I grew up and often visit a rural area where I grew up. There, art belongs to the past almost exclusively; colonial furniture, a knick-knack from your great aunt's trip to the city that one time. Why, if these people cherish antique art so much, do they not become inspired to produce it themselves. I can understand why, in the past, they might feel isolated and unempowered, but with the internet these days, you might have expected them to start injecting others with their own brand of creativity.
